Troutlodge Marine has quickly become a premier supplier of genetically-superior cobia eggs and juveniles. Cobia is a tropical marine species known for its tremendous growth rates (up to 7 kg in one year) and its valuable white flesh that is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids. This flavorful, healthy fish is rapidly becoming a favorite in the white tablecloth restaurants throughout the world.
Cobia has been identified as a superior species for aquaculture, thanks to its rapid growth rates, good feed conversion, and sustainable dietary requirements. Being a tropical species found throughout the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea, as well as the Atlantic seaboard of the southern USA, cobia requires water temperatures in excess of 22°C for grow-out, with their ideal temperature range being 25-28°C.
Cobia eggs and juveniles are supplied by Troutlodge Marine from our broodstock facilities in Vero Beach, Florida. We produce and ship several million cobia eggs each year, and eggs are available throughout the year. In addition, we currently have the capacity to produce 400,000 cobia juveniles each year from our Vero Beach facility. These juveniles are available throughout the year. They are typically sold at a size of ~1 gram.
Currently, eggs and juveniles are supplied to on-growing farms throughout Latin America, but are available to farmers across the globe. The products are carefully packaged and shipped from either the Orlando or Miami International Airport to the international airport of your choice. We will work closely with you to ensure the proper documentation is in place, and we will take complete care to ensure the eggs and juveniles arrive to you on-time and in great condition, ready to thrive within your farm.
